1816, the Year Without a Summer
I too made this image for Gorilla Artfare‘s anniversary activity. My illustration is based on Rasputina’s “1816, the Year Without a Summer”, a great song by an awesome band! It was a lot of fun reading up on the events that the song tells and on Mary Shelley. I guess it’s a bit darker than my usual stuff but I liked the challenge of doing something less funny and cheerful for a change. Usual combo: AI + PS
Esta ilus también fue hecha para la actividad de aniversario de Gorilla Artfare, es mi interpretación de “1816, the year without a summer” de Rasputina (un tema genial de una banda fantabulosa!) Me encantó leer acerca de los eventos que se relatan en la canción e investigar un poco la vida de Mary Shelley. La imagen resultante es un tanto más lúgubre que las que suelo hacer pero estuvo bueno salir un poco de las cosas graciosas y alegres. Realizada con el usual combo AI + PS.

Thri-kreen & some news
Hey all! A little while ago Blanca Martinez and Joe Sparrow invited me to contribute as a guest artist to their wonderful and fun blog Dungeons & Drawings, and of course I just HAD to say yes. I had already depicted Beholders and Mindflayers in the past, so I chose another big fave of mine: Thri-kreens. And there it is.

Playing cards with monsters
I’m still trying to improve my traditional inking skills so I made this illustration with that purpose. Inked with brushpen and black pencil, colours in PS. I’m also including the super messy sketch I did for it, and the lines on their own, for those interested in seeing some process.
Sigo intentando mejorar mis habilidades de entintado tradicional así que hice esta ilustración para practicar. Entintada con brushpen y lápiz negro, coloreada en PS. También les pongo el garabato del cual surgió, y las líneas solas, por si a alguien le interesa ver un poco más el proceso.
