A collaborative take on Moby Dick with Victoria. This was our contribution to From Hell’s Heart: An Illustrated Celebration of Herman Melville, a fantastic book curated by John Arcudi and chock-full of inspiring art.
In addition to our individual pieces for the Universal vs. Hammer Monsters show at Susanita’s Little Gallery, we also painted this image together. It’s a twist on the classic Creature from the Black Lagoon, painted in acrylic gouache on paper and it was a blast to make.
Plus: we recorded our painting process of this image and made this little video! The quality is not the best, and it’s missing a bit in the end when we added the lettering (blame the camera’s battery!) but we’ve learned tons and hopefully our next ones will see some improvement. The music is by the very awesome Dr. Quandary.
Además de las cosas que hicimos individualmente para la expo Universal vs. Hammer Monsters de Susanita’s Little Gallery, también pintamos esta imagen los dos juntos. Es un “twist” de la peli clásica El monstruo de la laguna negra, está hecha con goauche acrÃlico sobre papel, y nos la pasamos genial pintándola.
Y de yapa, grabamos un videÃn mientras la estábamos pintando! La calidad no es fantástica, y le falta un poquito al final en el que añadimos el tÃtulo porque nos falló la baterÃa, pero fue todo un aprendizaje y los próximos videos deberÃan ir mejorando. La música nos fue cedida generosamente por Dr. Quandary.
This blog has been pretty much abandoned for quite a while, we’ve been hanging around Tumblr (my Tumblr and Federico’s, in case you’re interested) and other social media sites, but lately we’ve found ourselves missing this space. So we have decided to revive it, and give a little more love to our shop as well in the process.
So I thought I’d share some of the things that I added there today: the original painting for the Adventure Time cover which was one of my last posts in this blog, and a print for a piece I hadn’t posted here yet: my painted envelope for Mail Me Art 3. The original piece sold and the proceeds went to charity, but a lot of people seemed to like it so I thought I’d offer it as a print as well.
Anyway, hello again everyone! And expect some more news and changes around here soon!
Nuestro blog ha estado prácticamente abandonado desde hace rato, con toda la oferta de social media dando vueltas dejamos de prestarle demasiada atención y nos hemos centrado sobre todo en Tumblr (por si acaso: mi Tumblr y el de Fede) pero en estos últimos tiempos nos dieron ganas de retornar a este espacio y revivirlo un poco, y de paso ver si nuestra tienda recibe algo de cariño en el proceso.
Asà que se me ocurrió, como primer intento, compartir un poco las cosas que agregué hoy allÃ: el original de la tapa que hice para el comic de Adventure Time, y que es una de las últimas cosas que subà al blog; y esta impresión de una ilustración que no habÃa posteado nunca acá: el sobre que pinté para Mail Me Art 3. El original se vendió y los fondos fueron a caridad, pero como a mucha gente le gustó la ilus me pareció que estarÃa bien ponerla también como impresión.
En fin, hola de nuevo a todos! Ya pronto añadiremos más novedades y haremos algunos cambios por estos pagos.

Hi there! Here’s a couple of images I created for the collaborative blog The Clockwork Ballroom. They are topic #1: Alter Ego and topic #5: Urban Sanctuary. I’m on a personal quest to gain enough confidence in traditional media to produce most of my work this way; I don’t mind coloring and retouching digitally for the most part, but I still want to do as much as I can directly on paper cause I enjoy it a lot more, so I’m using these to further my adventures in that direction 🙂 First one (the comic addicted pig girl) is acrylic gouache on paper and the second one (balcony full of plants) is ink and watercolour on paper. Hope you like ’em!
Hola a todos! He aquà un par de ilustraciones que hice para el blog colectivo The Clockwork Ballroom para los temas #1: Alter Ego y #2: Urban Sanctuary. Estoy en una especie de quest personal cuyo objetivo es ganar la suficiente confianza con medios tradicionales como para hacer la mayor parte de mi proceso de este modo; generalmente no me molesta usar la compu para colorear y retocar pero quiero tratar de hacer todo lo que pueda directamente sobre papel porque la paso mucho mejor, asà que estas cositas son mis intentos de seguir mis aventuras en esa dirección 🙂 La primera imagen (la chica-cerdo adicta a los comics) es gouache acrÃlico sobre papel, y la segunda (el balcón lleno de plantas) es tinta y acuarela sobre papel. Espero que les gusten!
Hey all! We’ve recently acquired a bunch of tubes of Turner acrylic gouache and we’ve been trying them out, so here’s a new pic we did together as a collab using them. We’ve been doing a lot of insect-inspired stuff lately so this one is a mix of that and one of our favourite films, Barry Lyndon. Hope you like!

Como venÃamos embalados con temáticas insectiles últimamente mezclamos eso con Barry Lyndon, una de nuestras pelÃculas favoritas. Esperamos que les guste!
